A Simple Christmas Card with Frosted Forest Decorative Masks

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

I love starting with a simple Christmas Card design, then playing around with decorative masks and blending brushes to make each one a bit different.  The Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder, #164049 adds a bit texture to the Pretty Peacock background.

***  The Trix  ***

*  Use a blending brush to add a bit of White Craft Stampin' Ink, to the Pretty Peacock embossed layer.

* Use the Frosted Forest Decorative Masks, #164350 and Pretty Peacock ink to create the Christmas Tree.  *Trix, start with the 'B' mask and blend Pretty Peacock Ink onto a 2 1/2 " x 4 1/2" piece of Basic White cardstock.  Remove the mask then line up the 'A' mask, continue to blend with the ink left in the brush, it will be slightly slighter.  Add White Craft ink for a heavier look of snow on the branches.

*  Stamp a greeting with Melon Mambo ink and adhere a layer of Melon Mambo cardstock, a smidge bigger.  Tie with Lost Lagoon Soft cording, #164938 then adhere to the card base with dimensionals.

Christmas Cards in Pink

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

I love using non traditional Christmas card colours and I love pulling out my favourite stamp sets.  The first card uses the current Decorative Trees Dies, #164084 and the Merry Tags Dies, #165639.  The second card uses the current Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder, #163414 and one of my favourite retired stamp sets, Joyful Life.

***  The Trix  ***

*  Adhere an embossed Basic White layer to a standard 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base, the embossed layer simply adds a bit of texture.

*  The Decorative Trees Dies do all the work, play around with colour combinations you love.  I used Bubble Bath for a fun twist, and continued to play up the textural feel by layering the cutouts in the same colour as the Christmas tree base.  *Trix, apply glue sparsely to the decorative toppers, to add depth to the solid coloured images.

***  Trix, alternately layer the trees with glue and dimensionals for added dimension.  The first tree is glued to the card base, the second two tress are adhered with dimensionals.

*  Apply the 'Merry' with glue, add a bit of sparkle with Silver & White 1/2" Sheer Ribbon, #163788 and Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels, #158987.

The Second Card uses Bubble Bath and Soft Sea Foam for the two 3 3/4" x 5" Eyelet Embossed layers on a Bubble Bath card base.  *Trix, adhere the eyelet layer with glue and then adhere the two layer to the card base with dimensionals.

***  Trix, repeat the colour combinations.  I coloured the image from the retired Joyful Life stamp set with Bubble Bath & Soft Sea Foam Blends.

*  Stamp with the sentiment of your choice, cut out as you wish and embellish with Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels and your choice of ribbon.
