Circle Saying Bundle for #PP637

Today's card is inspired by Ann's Sketch Challenge over @ the Paper Players.  I love a good sketch to get my card making mojo going and this was a fun one.  Please click on the hyperlink or the sketch  below to visit the challenge and then go try this sketch yourself!

***  The Trix  ***

*  Stamp the celebrate from the Circle Sayings Stamp Set, #161348 using Lemon Lime Twist ink then punch it out with the new 2 3/8" Circle Punch, #161354  or purchase them together in the Circle Sayings Bundle, #161355 and save 10%.  Stamp the sentiment and cut out with Paper Snips, #103579.

*  Stamp the cupcake using Berry Burst ink and cut out.  ***Trix, colour in the wrapper with a Blender Pen, #102845.  This neat tool allows you to pick up colour from the stamp pad to create a blended look on the image.

*  The fun dsp is called Bright & Beautiful, #161449.  It's filled with new colours and playful patterns.  Cut a 5/8" strip from the bottom to use as the band of pattern.  The softly coloured Lemon Lime Twist layer measures 4 1/8' x 5 3/8" and is adhered to a Thick Basic White card base.  

*  Cut the circle in half and adhere to the card base with glue, adhere the dsp strip, but pop up the cupcake and sentiment with dimensionals.  Embellish with Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels, #158987

Conversation Bubbles Bundle for #CC&S509

Today's card is for the second challenge of the month over @ CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge.  It's a fun sketch challenge!  The challenge is to create a slimline card using this sketch.  Please click the hyperlink above, or the image below to visit the blog and come create with us.  If you missed the awesome colour combo from the first challenge this month click here, and have a play!  

***  The Trix  ***

* Create the square frame using two square dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies, #159183 using Basic White cardstock and adhere to a 7" x 3 1/2" inch Thick Basic White cardstock base.

***  Play with the shapes  *Use the Conversation Bubbles Dies, #160636 to cut a variety of colours and shapes from the Hues of Happiness DSP, #158822, (Retiring)  *Trix, flip the DSP over and die cut the same shapes.  The dies are so neat, you can create coordinating frames for the conversation bubbles.

*  Stamp the sentiment from the Conversation Bubbles Stamp Set, #160628 with Memento Black Ink, and die cut out.  

***  Create dimension  *Arrange the bubbles within the frame, mixing and matching the DSP as desired.  *Trix, vary the adhesive to create dimension, adhere a few bubbles with glue,  pop others up with dimensionals, adhere one side of a bubble and let the other side float, whatever you wish to create interest using simple die cut shapes.

Pastels & a Fun Sketch

Today's card is inspired by two challenges, Joanne's Colour Challenge  - Any Colours in Pastel Shades - over @ the Paper Players & Cécile's Sketch Challenge over @ Freshly Made Sketches.  Please click on the hyperlinks or the images below to visit the challenges and enjoy the inspiration! 

When I first read the Pastel Challenge I thought I'd choose some retiring DSP that I've not played with nearly enough, the Fancy Flora DSP, #160413.  However as you'll see I've not used a bit of dsp on this card - does that ever happen to you - you plan something in your head and then your card takes on an entirely different vibe?  Anyway, Fancy Floral dsp inspired me to use Fresh Freesia as the card base with a touch of soft yellow and green.  

I love Clean And Simple cards, I'm always in awe of Cécile's CAS cards that have so much interest and detail while keeping a CAS feel.  So I kept to the sketch - I love the heart for Mother's Day.

***  The Trix  ***

* Stamp your favourite flower and greenery using Memento Black ink (mine is from the Paper Pumpkin March 2023 kit) ***Trix, allow the Memento to dry a bit before adding colour using Stampin' Blends Markers, only add colour to the details of the image.  I used Fresh Freesia, So Saffron & Soft Succulent.

*  Fussy cut the images, adhere the greenery to the back of the heart with Stampin' Seal, then adhere the heart with dimensionals. 

*  Adhere the flower stem with glue, stamp the sentiment, fussy cut it and adhere with dimensionals.   Embellish with gems of choice.

Loveliest Layers Decorative Masks for #AYSI296

Today's card is inspired by the neat sketch called - Balance - over @ As You See It Challenge & it's a little different from what I usually create.  I was really drawn to the graphic look of the Loveliest Layers Decorative Masks but I haven't played with them much - and now they're retiring!  The #AYSI296 challenge inspired my creativity.  Please click the hyperlink above or the image below to enjoy the inspiration, and then go challenge yourself to try a new style. 

   

***  The Trix  ***

*  Use Grid Paper, #130148 to line up a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" piece of Basic White cardstock and hold in place with washi tape.  Lay the mask on top of the cardstock and line up with a grid line, hold in place with washi tape.  

*  Blend Basic Gray ink colour onto the mask using Blending Brushes, #153611  ***Trix, remember less is more, add colour in layers to create the desired depth of colour.

*  Create a green flower with Soft Sea Foam ink and Pear Pizzazz ink (retiring colour) on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock and cut out with scissors.  ***Trix, add a bit of dimension by curling the petal and adhering the centre of the flower only. 

*  Stamp the sentiment from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set, #158763 using Memento Black ink and round a couple of corners to pick up on the graphic elements of the mask.  Adhere with dimensionals.

*  Take off a 1 inch strip of Petal Pink cardstock from the top of the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base, then adhere a 7/8" x 5 3/8" piece of DSP to the bottom right edge.  Adhere a 3 1/8" x 5 3/8" coordinating piece of DSP to the left side.

*  Stamp the turtle with Memento Black Ink on Basic White cardstock, colour with coordinating Stampin' Blends Markers, die cut with the Scalloped Contours Dies, #155560 and adhere to the left side of the card with dimensionals.

*  The greeting is from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set, #158763 and embellished with Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels, #158130.

Sending Smiles for #CC&S508

I'm so excited!  Today is my first Guest Designer Challenge with CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge!  I am thrilled to create a few cards for the next three months with the Design Team.  I hope you learn a *Trix* or two along the way and most of all I hope you're are inspired to create!

This colour challenge is to use Crushed Curry, Shaded Spruce & Melon Mambo - three terrific, bold colours that just say, "look at me"  :)

***  The Trix  ***

* Use the Stamparatus, #146276 to create an even, clean colour application *  

*  Stamp the flowers from the Sending Smiles Stamp Set, #158701 on a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Basic White cardstock using the colours above.  The Stamparatus allows you to ink up the stamp multiple times to saturate the colour and add depth to the image.  Then adhere the layer to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2 " Thick Basic White card base with glue.

*  Season your stamp *  If you find your photopolymer stamp doesn't stamp cleanly, (especially when new) clean the stamp first, scrub it a bit with a damp microfibre cloth to ensure there's no residue from production left on the photopolymer.  Ink it up and stamp off on a scrap piece of paper and then clean again with a damp Shammy, #147042 before stamping on your card.

* Use a simple image and a greeting that pops *  The Happy Birthday comes from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set, #158763, stamped with Crushed Curry then cut out with Paper Snips, and adhered with dimensionals.

Sometimes a girl just needs to colour :)   When I saw the sketch challenge over @ CAS Colours & Sketches Challenges I envisioned a simple flower that I could colour with Watercolour Pencils.  I chose a retired favourite called Springtime Joy and topped it off with the greeting from the current Happiness Abounds Stamp Set, #159238

*  Stamp the greeting and adhere with dimensionals then tuck in a few gems.  ***Trix use the rule of odd numbers, the sketch gives us five lines, so I added three little gems.

Go To Greetings with the Pretty Pop Ups Dies for #fms579

Today's card is inspired by Jen T's sketch over @ Freshly Made Sketches .  When I saw this terrific sketch I knew I had to use the oval from the retiring Pretty Pop-Ups Dies,#159179.   Also I'm inspired by the new Colour Refesh.  Stampin' UP!® is bringing back a few colours and adding in some new ones to their Colour Collection.  Today's card features three returning faves, Pretty Peacock, Lemon Lime Twist & Berry Burst.

Yes, my mom would call me a 'Pack Rat' as i still have a few pieces of this cardstock left and Pretty Peacock Stampin' Blends, but when you love a colour you keep it - right?

***  The Trix  ***

*  Create peak-a-boo colour by layering the ovals *

*  The Pretty Pop-Ups Dies, do not cut out the oval shape, so I used the retired Stitched Shapes Framelits™ Dies, but you could easily fussy cut the shape out too.  Pop up the cut shapes within the oval using the Take Your Pick Tool™, #144107.  

*  Cut a second oval with Berry Burst then adhere the Basic White oval to the Berry Burst oval, taking care to add dabs of glue around the popped up pieces.

*  Adhere the ovals to the card base with dimensionals and add in a Lemon Lime Twist butterfly from the die set.  ***Trix, fussy cut the butterfly with paper snips to cut it out completely and adhere with glue.

*  Stamp the greeting from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set,#158763 with Versamark and emboss with White Embossing Powder, #155554.  Adhere with dimensionals.  Embellish with Rhinestone Basic Jewels, #144220 coloured with a Pretty Peacock Stampin' blends Marker.
