Playing In The Rain for #stampinfancyfriday

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by the super sketch over @ Stampin' Fancy Friday.  I love the layers of this sketch so I chose the coordinating patterns from my favourite *Free Sale-a-bration DSP.

Click here to visit Fancy Friday on Instagram.

Click here to visit Lesley's Stampin' Trix on Instagram

***  The Trix ***

*  Use the DSP for the full card front - It's *Free so use it up - cut the DSP at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" and adhere it to a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Thick Basic White card base.

*  Choose colour and pattern coordination from the DSP pack  - play with the layers and find your favourite placement.  1st layer, 4" x 4".  2nd layer, 3 1/2" x 4 1/2".  Adhere with glue.

*  Stamp the bunny from the Playing In The Rain Stamp Set, #160542 with Memento Black Ink on a 2 1/2" x 3" piece of Basic White cardstock and colour using Old Olive & Fresh Freesia Stampin' Blends Markers.  Adhere to card base with glue.

*  Stamp the sentiment from the Go To Greetings Stamp Set, #158763 with Old Olive ink on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock and adhere it with dimensionals.  Embellish with Pearl Basic Jewels, #144219

Limited Edition Stamp Set for #cc&s505

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card uses a super sketch over @ CAS Colours & Sketches.  Please click the hyperlink or the image below to visit the challenge and enjoy the inspiration - then play along - yes play along - take a picture of your card and upload it to the #CC&S505 challenge :)

My favourite freebie from Sale-a-bration is the Dainty Flowers DSP, #169834.  The Blushing Bride with dainty white field flowers is a piece from this pack.  And best of all the DSP coordinates with the Dainty Delight Bundle, #160675

***  The Trix  ***

* Soften the contrast - Blend a bit of Blushing Bride ink, #147100 with a Blending Brush, #153611.  This subtle effect is simple to do and softens the edge between the 2" x 5 1/2" DSP layer and the Thick Basic White card base.

*  Mask off the image to capture the part you need - The rubber stamp image has the 'Just For You' sentiment under the flower, *Trix cover the words with a post it note, masking paper or a bit of washi tape, and ink up the stamp. Remove the tape and stamp the flower on a scrap piece of Basic White cardstock.  Then die cut it out using a circle from the Layering Circles Dies, #151770 and adhere to the card with dimensionals.

*  Stamp the sentiment the same way, clean your stamp, mask over the flower, ink up the stamp, peel off the mask and stamp just the words above the dsp layer.

Floral Background Wood Mount Stamp for Retro #200

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Congratulations to the Retro Rubber Challenge Blog on their 200th Challenge! That's 200 amazing inspiration challenges using old retired stamps!  Please click the hyperlink or the image below to visit their blog and enjoy the inspiration - then go haul out a favourite stamp set from your stash and get creating with this super versatile sketch!

*I hope my card fits the sketch - in my mind I see the three layers as the base, scalloped edge and Soft Sea Foam Ribbon :)

Today's card uses the Floral Background Wood Mount Stamp from 2005.  I've added in a little surprise stamp on the inside, can you guess where it's from?  Hint it's in the same stamp set as the sentiment.

***  The Trix  ***

*  Use the sketch to inspire a fun fold - Score a 4 1/4" x 11" piece of Smoky Slate cardstock at 5 1/2" and 9 3/4"  then create a scalloped edge on the flap with the Scalloped Contour Dies, #155560

*  Create your own dsp with a background stamp -  stamp the Floral stamp with Soft Sea Foam ink on a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" piece of Basic White cardstock, then cut to 4" x 4" and adhere to the card base.

*  Tie the ribbon around the flap and then adhere to the card base.  Stamp the sentiment and add to the ribbon.  *Trix, hide a glue dot under the bow to keep it in place, and under the sentiment to keep it from floating.

*  Create the insert with a 3 1/2" x 5" piece of stamped cardstock and add on a 3 1/4" x 4 3/4" of Basic White - here's the little surprise - the inside flower is from the *Free* Beautifully Happy Stamp Set, #160804 (available during Sale-a-bration 2023)

Butterflies & Blooms for #AYSI292 and #GDP382 Challenges

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by the Raindrops On Roses Challenge over @ As You See It Challenge.  My favourite thing about spring is Butterflies & Blooms, I always look for the plants bursting forth in the garden and the butterflies that appear!  The terrific sketch over @ Global Design Project inspired the placement of the butterflies with the blended colours behind it.  Please click the hyperlinks to visit the blog challenges, and enjoy the inspiration!

***  The Trix  ***

*  Use DSP for the detailed butterfly die cut image - The Brilliant Wings Dies, #155523 come with two coordinating die cut shapes.   Use coordinating cardstock for the solid image and the Fancy Flora DSP, #160413 for the detailed die cut image.   Adhere together with glue.  *Trix* dot the glue in the centre of the detailed die cut, allow to dry a bit until tacky and then adhere to the solid cardstock die cut so the glue doesn't smoosh out.

*  Highlight the butterflies  -  Blend colours from the coordinating DSP onto a 4 1/8" x 5 3/8" layer of Basic White cardstock.  I followed the sketch to create the swirls of Orchid Oasis, Balmy Blue & Pool Party before embossing with the Painted Posies 3D Embossing Folder, #159175

*  Adhere the butterflies with glue to the embossed layer, stamp the sentiment from the Something Fancy Stamp set, #160416 with Orchid Oasis ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock, and adhere to the embossed layer with dimensionals.  Embellish with Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels, #158987 then adhere the layer to the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Basic White Thick card base.

Happy Birthday inspired by #gdp381 & #fms573

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by Kim's Sketch over @ Freshly Made Sketches using the Colour Challenge over @ Global Design Project.  Please click the hyperlinks or the images below to visit the blog challenges and enjoy the inspiration!

This quick and easy card uses up scraps of cardstock with a fun and fresh colour palette of Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather and Blushing Bride.  And what's better than pinks and purples together? - Pinks & purples with Animal Print!  Use the fabulous Animal Print Embossing Folder - it's currently available on the Clearance Rack - woohoo!

***  The Trix  ***

*Trix*  To adhere the scraps of coloured cardstock straight use the lines on Grid Paper, #130148 as your guide.  Lay a 2" x 6" piece of Basic White cardstock on the grid paper.  Add glue to the cardstock layer then adhere the 1/2" strips of Fresh Freesia, Highland Heather & Blushing Bride.  Trim the edges and pass through the Animal Print Embossing Folder, #155429.  Then adhere the 2" x 5 1/2" layer to the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base.

*  Stamp the sentiment and cake from the Party Puffins Stamp Set, #155054 with Highland Heather ink on a scrap piece of Thick Basic White cardstock.  Use a Water Painter to colour in with Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia & Blushing Bride.  Then adhere to the card base with dimensionals.  Add some sparkle to the candles and cake with Wink Of Stella® Glitter Brush, #141897 and embellish with 2021 - 2023 In Color™ Opal Rounds.

Two Tone Flora DSP & Art Gallery Stamp Set

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

I love the Two Tone Flora Designer Series Paper in the January - April Mini Catalogue.  This card is the second of two cards with one of my favourites 6 x 6 pieces from the pack.  If you missed the first card please click here to read the blog post.

Also check out stampinthroughthecatalog on IG, they're showcasing this fabulous DSP this week.  Check out Lesley's StampnTrix on IG too!

***  The Trix  ***

*  Use the colours from the DSP to create the flowers - When I first purchased this dsp I wasn't able to buy the stamp set so I searched my stash :)  Stamp the Art Gallery Stamp Set, #158201 with Calypso Coral, Orchid Oasis & Evening Evergreen ink and die cut out using the Floral Gallery Dies, #154316

*  Choose a colour to repeat  - I chose Orchid Oasis as the sentiment colour, with Orchid Oasis Twine, #159195 and a strip of Orchid Oasis cardstock for an edge beside the dsp.

*  Adhere the Orchid Oasis cardstock strip to the 1 13/16" x 5 3/8" strip of DSP before adhering to the Thick Basic White card base.  Add the flowers with glue, fitting in the leaves under the flowers and overlapping the dsp strip.

*Trix*  adhere the twine the sentiment strip before adhering to the card with dimensionals.  Embellish with Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels, #158130

Garden Birdhouses for #gdp380

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by Janneke De-Jong.  The Global Design Project challenge for this week is to CASE The Designer!  Here's what I love about Janneke's design, the four floating images, the placement and choice of the gems, the twine bow close to the sentiment, and the narrow coloured cardstock border.  Please click on the hyperlink above or the #gdp380 image below to visit the challenge and enjoy the inspiration!

I'm wishing for spring, and yesterday I noticed the Purple Finches are back, spring must be on it's way.  So I naturally chose the Garden Birdhouses Stamp Set, #155090.

***  The Trix  ***

*  Pick your favourite colours and create - I love Janneke's design of four images.  I stamped the Garden Birdhouses Stamp Set with Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight, Parakeet Party & Flirty Flamingo.

*  Give 'No Line Watercolouring' a try - yes it is easy.  Use Thick Basic White cardstock, a light touch with the Water Painter, #151298 and use the pool of colour from the lid of the ink pad.

*  The Smoky Slate cardstock layer is a smidge bigger than the 4" x 5 1/4" Thick Basic White layer and matches the Smoky Slate of the Garden Birdhouses stakes.  The Parakeet Party green grass grounds the birdhouses.

*  Stamp the sentiment with Coastal Cabana ink, #147097.  *Trix* attach the White Baker's Twine, #155475 bow with a glue dot to the back of the sentiment strip before attaching with dimensionals.  Embellish with Festive Pearls, #159963.

Dainty Delight Bundle for #CC&S504

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by the Colour Challenge over @ CAS Colours & Sketches Challenge.  Use Balmy Blue, Sweet Sorbet & Mint Macaron, fun combo eh!.  Please click the hyperlink to visit the blog challenge and enjoy the inspiration!

***  The Trix  ***

*  Use a light touch - The flowers from the Dainty Delight Stamp Set, #161078  are stamped with Mint Macaron on Shimmery White Cardstock, #101910 and coloured in with a Water Painter, #151298 using very minimal water.  I love the look of a water wash and the Shimmery cardstock moves the colour well.  Just dot on colour from the lid of the ink pad, allow to dry and add more colour as desired.

***  Click here for the YouTube video I did this week, called No Line Watercolouring

*  Keep it Clean And Simple (CAS)  - The dainty flowers are very detailed and the only part of the card that's coloured.  The 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" Very Vanilla card base has a 4" x 5 1/4" Very Vanilla layer and sprig of flowers from the Dainty Delight Dies, #160674 as well as Very Vanilla Classic Matte Dots, #158146.  This adds texture and keeps the card CAS with the coloured flowers as the focal point.
