Artfully Composed for #PP584

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by LeAnne's Sketch challenge over at The Paper Players blog, a perfect sketch for using DSP.  Please click on either my card or the #PP584 image to visit their blog and enjoy the inspiration.

Click my card to visit #PP584 challenge

Assembly & Trix:

*  Stamp the leaf with Just Jade Ink on Just Jade cardstock and die cut to create a background for the sentiment using the Artfully Layered bundle (stamps & dies) #157761

*  This piece of Artfully Composed DSP, #157750 has a directional pattern, (at least to my eye it does).  So the **Trix is to make sure the bold pattern of the dsp flows in the same direction as the big leaf die cut layer, on this card, it's horizontal.

***Trix, cut the DSP @ 4 1/2 x 3, then cut into three 1 1/2 inch pieces.  Remember to keep them in order when adhering them to the card base.

*  Adhere the strips of DSP to a piece of Flowering Fields DSP, #157670 .  I hoped the little dots on the pattern would relate to the Artistry Blooms Sequins, #152477

*  The sentiment is stamped with Just Jade ink and is from On The Horizon stamp set, #157770

*  The card base is a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of Poppy Parade.

Pansy Patch DSP with Happy & Heartfelt for #jai596

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by the Sketch Challenge over at Just Add Ink Challenges.  Please click on either my card or the #jai image to visit their blog and enjoy the inspiration!

Click my card to visit the #jai596 challenge

Assembly & Trix:

*The tags are from Tailor Made tags, #155563 & cut from the retiring Pansy Petals DSP, #155807.  They are placed according to the sketch but the ***Trix, is to adhere each tag differently, to create the depth and dimension.  The first is glued down, the second, uses Mini Stampin' Dimensionals and the third tag is added using Foam Adhesive Strips #141825 on one side only.  These strips are a bit thicker than the regular dimensionals, so add mini dimensionals to the left side of the tag so it doesn't dip on the card.

*  Fussy cut the pansy from the DSP, add a bit of Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon, #155615.

*  Stamp the sentiment using Blackberry Bliss Ink.  The cardstock is 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Fresh Freesia

Lovely You for #PP583

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card was inspired by Laurie's Clean and Simple Challenge over at the Paper Players Challenge.   The theme was to use Blooms!  I missed the entry deadline but you can still click on either my card or the #PP583 image to visit their blog post and soak in the inspiration.  Enjoy!

One of the perks of joining Stampin' Up!® is to view the new Annual Catalogue early!  Yes I've had a sneak peek and it's fabulous.  The 2022 -2024 In Color's are beautiful, bright and cheery, and they inspired the colours for these little flowers.

Click my card to visit the PP583 blog post

Assembly & Trix:

*  The fabulous sentiment and little blooms are all part of the same stamp set, Lovely You, #152525 .  I simply stamped the flowers with Poppy Parade, Bermuda Bay & Granny Apple Green, and the sentiment is in Memento Black Ink.  No *Trix here, just a simple spray of flowers around the edge of the label that's popped up on dimensionals.

*  So lets talk about the terrific Tasteful Labels Dies set, #152886 -  retiring!  Please click the image to see all the retiring products to make room for the new, coming May 3rd.

Wild Cats Stamp Set for #tgifc360 & Fusion Challenges

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card was inspired by three challenges,  First the Technique Challenge at #tgifc - use only stamps, paper, ink and an embellishment.

The Fusion Challenge - Bookshelf inspired the band of plants adding foliage for the tigers.

And lastly, I chose the colours based on the #conceptartcreativechallenge this week.  Sahara Sand, Evening Evergreen, Soft Succulent, Cinnamon Cider, Gray Granite.

Please click the challenge images below to visit the blogs.

Assembly & Trix:

*  The ***Trix to create the look that one tiger is in front of the other is to stamp the first tiger, mask it off and stamp the second.  The tigers are stamped with Cinnamon Cider ink.   That's also how I created the band of plants with Soft succulent and Evening Evergreen Ink.  Please check my YouTube Channel for an upcoming video on how to mask with stamps.

*  The 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base is Gray Granite with a 3 7/8 x 5 1/8 Sahara Sand layer.  The sentiment is stamped with Memento Ink from the Wild Cats Stamp Set, #154992, then die cut using the Tasteful Labels dies, #152886.  The Linen Thread, #104199 provides the simple Embellishment.

***  Click here to shop the supplies to create this card.  Please remember to use the monthly Host Code when your shopping cart is between $60 - $135, then I'll send you a little gift in the mail with your thank you card next month.  March Host Code KDU2GMVJ

Flowers of Gratitude Retro Stamps for #rrcb178

Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today I'm using one of my favourite old springtime stamps for the Retro Rubber Challenge #178.  The theme for this challenge is 'Anything Goes' and that proved a bit difficult for me.  Anything, meant I could choose 'anything' - and wow I changed my mind a lot before settling on this one - yes, I'm a little like 'Dory' with my old stamps.

Please click here to visit the Retro Rubber Challenge blog post and enjoy the inspiration, then go dig out an old stamp and make a card. Enjoy!

Click my card to visit the Retro Rubber Challenge #178 blog post

Assembly & Trix:

*  This stamp was a favourite of mine in 2005 when, I think, I earned it as a Sale-A-Bration stamp, does anyone else remember, were SAB stamps purple rubber in 2005?  At the time I coloured it with pencil crayons, this time I get to use Stamping Blends Markers in Just Jade, Highland Heather, Flirty Flamingo & So Saffron.

*  The other old fav I used, is the Subtle Textured Embossing Folder, it leaves a subtle linen look.  I've added it here to the Abstract Beauty DSP, #158039 on a Just Jade 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base.

*  The sentiment is from Happy & Heartfelt, #158005, the stamp set sentiment is in the inside says 'Flowers of gratitude bloom forever in the heart' perfect for Mother's Day :)

***  Click here to shop and please remember to use the monthly Host Code when your shopping cart is between $60 - $135.  I'll send you a thank you card next month and a little gift too.  March Host Code KDU2GMVJ

March 2022 Paper Pumpkin for #jai595

 Hello thanks for visiting!

Today's card was inspired by the beautiful greens in the Inspiration photo from Just Add Ink Challenge #595.  The simple mix of various greens with white in the photo caught my eye.   Stampin' Up!® has so many beautiful green ink colours, I challenged myself to mix a couple of greens I wouldn't usually put together, Soft Sea Foam & Evening Evergreen.

Please click here to visit the #jai595 blog post, view the beautiful inspiration photo and go create something amazing  :)

Do you recognize the flower stamp?  It's a free gift from the March 2022 Paper Pumpkin® kit.  The kit is called Beyond the Horizon, (please find the video link below), however in this months kit, Stampin' Up!® has surprised and delighted us with a free Thank You gift, a second stamp!  How great is that eh!

The 1st *Trix with this card is to blend the colour on the stamp with sponge daubers.  The 2nd *Trix is to add a second set of fussy cut flowers to add a bit of dimension.    Be sure to click here to watch my Instagram Reel for this technique.

#simplestamping - Stamps Ink & Paper was also my goal with this stamp set.  The second picture shows the beauty of this simple flower cluster, same *Trix with the ink blending.

***  Click here  to shop my online store.  Please remember to use the monthly Host Code when your shopping cart is between $60 - $135, then when I send your thank you card next month I'll add in a little gift too :)   March Host Code KDU2GMVJ

Positive Thoughts for #FMS527

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is inspired by Judy's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches - love it!  And, in spring I love watching for various birds of prey soar over us.  We are lucky to see hawks, falcons and others Raptors if we keep a watchful eye.  The Niagara Peninsula Hawkwatch  supports conservation of Ontario Birds of Prey and you can find their website here.

Please click on either my card or the #FMS527 to visit their blog challenge.

Click my card to visit #FMS527

Assembly & Trix:

***Trix, create the colour variation on the feather stamp with sponge daubers using Crumb Cake, Soft Suede & Cajun Craze ink.  I was trying to create a Red Tailed Hawk feather, not sure I succeeded, but I love playing with colours to see if I can create a realistic look.

*  Stamp the sentiment with Soft Suede ink and adhere to the 3 3/4 x 5 Basic White cardstock layer with glue.  Then adhere to the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Basic White card base.

*  Stamp the Crumb Cake cardstock with Crumb Cake ink using the Stacked Stone, #152556 Background Stamp.  I chose this stamp because the stacked stone reminds me of the horizontal layers of the sedimentary rock of the Niagara Escarpment.

*  Die cut the rectangles with the Stitched Rectangles, #151820.  Adhere to the card using Foam Adhesive Strips, #141825 to add a bit more height.

*** Click here  to shop the supplies to create this card.  And please remember to use the monthly Host Code when your order is between $60 -  $135, then I can send you a little thank you gift in the mail the following month with your thank you card.  March Host Code KDU2GMVJ.

*  Use the Stamparatus™ to stamp the image with Black Memento Ink, then blend on Daffodil Delight Ink using Blending Brushes and the decorative mask.  ***Trix, place the stamped layer back on the Stamparatus™ and stamp again with the Memento Black Ink to create a crisp image.

***Trix, when using the blending brushes with the decorative mask, ensure the mask is well secured with either low tack tape or sticky notes so that it can't move while you apply colour.

Masking with the Shaded Summer Stamp Set for #PP582

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card was inspired by Joanne's super colour challenge at The Paper Players Challenge #582 this week.  I chose to use the masking technique with the challenge colours, Daffodil Delight, Mango Melody & Pear Pizzazz.  Please click on either my card or the #PP582 image to visit their blog post directly and enjoy the inspiration from all the designers.

Masking can be done with either our fabulous Decorative Masks, or create your own!  I created my own with the Summer Shadows Dies, but I challenge you :) to find a die you can turn into a mask.

Click the image to visit #PP582

Assembly & Trix:

*  Create a mask using the Summer Shadows Dies, (retired) as pictured below.  I use Basic White cardstock for stability.  Ensure the mask is held down well with sticky notes or repositionable tape, add colour with blending brushes.

***Trix, when using the masking technique to create a layered image, the last image added will appear to be the background image.  The Pear Pizzazz leaves were the last to be coloured, but they look like they are behind the flowers.  ***Please click here to visit Lesley's StampinTrix Facebook Business Page to watch the 'how to' video coming this week.

*  The highlight image for each flower bud is die cut with Daffodil Delight & Mango Melody cardstock, adhered with glue.

*  Stamp the sentiment from the Shaded Summer Stamp Set, #155783 with Mango Melody and fussy cut out.  Adhere it to the card base with dimensionals.

*  Add the Daffodil Delight Ruched Ribbon, #151311 & the Artistry Blooms Adhesive - Backed Sequins, #152477 for the bling.

***  Click here to shop, and please remember to use the monthly Host Code when your shopping cart is between $60 - $135, and then I can send you a thank you gift in the mail the following month with your thank you card.  March Host Code is KDU2GMVJ

Measurements, Assembly & Trix:

*  There's really no Trix to this card, it's Friday, we need to keep it simple.  The only Trix is to get the measurements right, so the card feels balanced, if you know what I mean.  Look closely - & look closely at the sketch - the top DSP layer has a 1/2 inch border on 3 sides, but a 1/4 inch border on the bottom.  *Happy Friday, I've figured out the measurements for you :)  Enjoy!

*  4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Magenta Madness card base ( 4 1/4 x 11 folded in half portrait orientation)

*  1 3/4 x 4 1/4 1st layer of DSP

*  3 1/4 x 4 3/4 Top layer coordinating DSP.

*  2 x 1 1/2 Basic White cardstock for the sentiment, Magenta Madness sentiment frame a 'smidge' bigger, a 16th of an inch.

*  Adhere the DSP with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

*  Stamp the sentiment from the Happy & Heartfelt stamp set, #158005 with Magenta Madness ink, adhere it to the Magenta border & add Metallic Pearls, #146289 for bling.
