Create & Donate Thanks

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Some of you may remember that in August 2021 I began partnering with a group of students at Ridley College to help create cards for the Shoebox Project of Niagara.  We donated 54 cards to go in the Shoeboxes this Christmas Season.  The cards came from the fabulous Hope Box, a Paper Pumpkin Kit from August 2021.  Here's the final result - awesome eh!  The students did a fantastic job creating the cards and compiling the gift boxes for women impacted by homelessness.

***A special note of thanks goes out to my customers who supported this venture, they helped in a couple of ways, some purchased the Paper Pumpkin Hope Box Kit for the students to create, others created the cards themselves and then donated them - thank you everyone who participated!

If you'd like to be part of creating and donating to others, please email me at lesley@stampintrix.ca   Click here to read about my Create & Donate projects.

Demonstrator Training Program December Blog Hop

Thank you for joining us for our Stampin' Up!® Demonstrator Training Program Monthly Blog Hop! We are so happy that you could join us today for this blog hop for ideas and creative inspiration. We are a group of Stampin' Up!® Demonstrators from around the world that are taking part in training that is helping us to build a successful Stampin' Up!® business and reach some goals we have set. We really appreciate your support.

You may be starting here or have come from another blog - either way you can find the link list at the bottom of this post so that you can see every blog post and idea today.

I love it when I can take a simple layout and use it in different ways.  Do you notice anything familiar about this card?  It's the same layout I used for the Arctic Bears card for Kylie's Highlights Gallery on Dec 6th.  Isn't it neat how simply changing the paper and stamp set creates a completely different card.  I encourage you to try this 'Trix',  and mix it up.  Make two cards, change the layers &/or their placement on the card.  The dsp for this card is on the right, the cardstock from my Dec 6th card was on the left, same measurements.

And here's the card details:

4 1/4 x 5 1/2 Basic White card base  (5 1/2 x 8 1/4 folded in half portrait orientation)

2 1/2 x 4 1/4 Sweet Stockings DSP  Item #156281

3 x 4 Painted Christmas DSP  Item #156292

3/4 x 3 1/2 Basic White Cardstock (CS) for the sentiment

3 x 3 Basic White  CS for the leaf die cut.

*Retiring* Arctic Bears stamp set  Item #156428

Christmas Season Bundle Item #156801

Inks:  Evening Evergreen & Soft Succulent

Pearl Basic Jewels

Bakers Twine Essentials Pack

Wink of Stella Glitter Brush

***Click here to shop the supplies used for this card on Lesley's online Stampin' Up!® store

Assembly & Trix:

*  Adhere the first layer of DSP to the card base with Multipurpose Liquid Glue (glue)

*  Adhere the second layer with glue.  ***Trix, use grid paper to line up the layers of dsp on the card to get evenly spaced overlapping layers.

*  Stamp the leaf from Christmas Season stamp set in either Evening Evergreen or Soft Succulent and die cut using the  coordinating Seasonal Labels dies.

*  Stamp the sentiment from the Arctic Bears stamp set using the same colour as the leaf stamp, on the 3/4 inch wide sentiment strip and adhere to the card with dimensionals.

*  Adhere the leaf to the sentiment layer with glue.  ***Trix, add a bit of bling if you wish using Wink of Stella Glitter brush.

*  Tie a small bow with White Bakers Twine and adhere to the leaf with a glue dot.

*  Embellish with Pearl Basic Jewels.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Arctic Bears for Kylie's International Blog Highlights December 2021

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card is for Kylie's International Blog Highlights.  If you like my card I'd love for you to vote for me in the gallery.  Simply click the heart in the top right corner of my card, #10.  If my card is chosen then I have the opportunity to join Kylie's International Blog Hop at the end of the month.    Thanks so much for participating and enjoy the inspiration from demonstrators around the world.

My card was inspired by a card Mary Fish created.  I loved Mary's use of cardstock to create a focal point.   Please visit her blog at Stampin' Pretty

Click the image to visit the gallery

And here's the card details:

5 1/2 x 8 1/2 card base ( folded in half portrait orientation

2 1/2 x 4 1/4 Misty Moonlight Cardstock (CS)

3 x 4 Balmy Blue CS

2 pieces of 3 1/4 x 2 3/4 Basic White CS one for the focal image and one for the masking technique.

2 x 2 scrap piece of Basic White CS for the smaller bear die cut

2 1/2 x 1/2 inch piece of Basic white for the sentiment layer

Arctic Bears Bundle

Ink:  Basic Gray & Balmy Blue

Clear Stampin' Emboss powder

Blending Brushes

Assembly & Trix:

*  Stamp the large bear on one of the 3 1/4 x 2 3/4 pieces of Basic White using Basic Gray ink, cover with clear embossing powder and heat set.  ***Trix, when using ink to heat set, instead of VersaMark™, ensure your ink pad is well inked and there is a solid inked image on the cardstock, then heat set holding the heat tool on the underside of the stamped image.

*  Stamp and heat emboss the small bear on the 2 x 2 piece of Basic White and die cut out.

*  Stamp and heat emboss the sentiment on the 1/2 piece of Basic White and and trim the ends.

*  Create a mask for the large bear by stamping the bear on the remaining 3 x 3 1/4  piece of Basic White using Basic Gray ink and die cut out.

*  Hold the mask in place over the large bear and blend Balmy Blue ink around the bear to create the look of blue sky.  ***Trix, remember less is more when using blending brushes, swirl the ink onto the brush and blend off the paper first then move onto the image layer, gradually building colour.

*  Adhere the Misty Moonlight and Balmy Blue CS layers to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue (glue)

*  Adhere the focal image layer to the card base with glue and adhere the sentiment and small bear with dimensionals.

Enjoy & have a super day!

Heart & Home DSP and White Frayed Ribbon

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card introduces a couple of new products from the upcoming January - June 2022 Mini Catalogue.  The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is called Heart & Home.  The White Frayed Ribbon frays very easily, and has a cotton feel to it.   The new products are combined with a couple of stamp sets from the Annual Catalogue.

If you currently order from me I have sent you a new catalogue in the mail.  If you're new to Stampin' Up!® and don't have a demonstrator you order from, please reach out by email lesley@stampintrix.ca or click the 'Contact Me' link in the top menu bar, and I'll mail you a cataloglue.

The Stampin' Up!® catalogues are full of amazing card ideas.  This card is a CASE - Copy And Share Everything or Copy And Selectively Edit.  I have 'selectively edited' a card from the upcoming new mini catalogue.

Click here for the Artistically Inked Stamp Set (sentiment)

Click here for the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set (background stamp)

Assembly & Trix:

*  The standard card base is Cinnamon Cider with a slightly smaller piece of Heart & Home DSP,  the edges are distressed with scissors.

*  The sentiment layer is Pale Papaya, a colour from the DSP and ripped on an angle.  I first stamped a background using a stamp from the Quiet Meadow stamp set.  The sentiment is from the Artistically Inked stamp set.

*  The White Frayed Ribbon, (from the new mini catty) 'frays'  beautifully from all sides.  ***Trix, to get the side of the ribbon to fray just snip the ribbon ever so slightly to nick the threads and pull carefully.  The Linen Thread loops are held together with the delightful Bumblebee Trinket, both from the Annual Catalogue.  And of course I must :) add a little more bling, choose what you like, I used the Genial Gems, (AC)

Current Mini Catalogue products are available now while supplies last until the end of December.
