Storybook Friends for Easter

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

I love monochromatic colour schemes.  The Bloom Impressions Designer Series paper was a freebie from Sale-A-bration, and it was my jumping off point for colour inspiration.  The new Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder, #165559 looks a bit like furrows in a vegetable patch, so I thought of the cute little guys from the Storybook Friends Stamp set, #164448

Daisy Daydream Paper Pumpkin Alternative

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card uses the Paper Pumpkin supplies from the March 2025 Kit called Daisy Daydream.  I like to make one of each card in the kit and then try my hand at some alternatives.  The inspiration for the card is a template from page 22 in the current Annual Catalogue.  I switched it up a bit since I was using one of the single layer cards from the kit.

The sentiment comes from My Small Business Stamp Set, #163720.  It has many different fonts, and some fun sentiments - 'made with love, you've got great taste' & a cute shopping bag and present perfect for colouring - it's not just for demonstrators :)   And it's on the Last Chance List, find the link below.

Did you know you can get refills for the Paper Pumpkin Kits if you're a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber.  Click here to see the Daisy Daydream Refill and Click Here to sign up for a monthly kit.

***  The Trix  ***

*  With Paper Snips Scissors, #103579 cut some of the greenery off three daisies.  There's lots of daisies in the kits so choose the ones you like. :)

*  Stamp the 'thanks' from My Small Business Stamp Set with Lost Lagoon ink on Basic White cardstock.

*  Use the 1 3/4 inch punch to punch out the stamp.

*  Stamp the hive image from the kit with Lost Lagoon ink, *Trix, stamp off first to create a lighter image on the card front.

*  Adhere the thanks circle with glue, just off centre so the hive image peeks out just a bit.    *Trix, put glue on the centre of the circle only so you can tuck a daisy in behind it.

*  Adhere the top daisy with glue but, *Trix, curl the edges on the daisy before tucking it in behind to add a little bit of dimension.

*  Adhere the other two daisies with dimensionals, curl the edges first with a bone folder.

*  Add a few Iridescent Pearls Basic Jewels, #158987 for a bit of bling.

Paper Scraps and Card Templates

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

Today's card was inspired by a template from page 22 of the current Annual Catalogue and a few scraps of designer series paper from the Timeless Plaid 6 x 6 paper pack.  For a fun bit of extra layering I combined the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder and the new Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder.

So which is your favourite, the darker Mossy Meadow card or the Basic Beige card?  Both of these colours are found in the Timeless Plaid DSP?

***  The Trix  ***

*  Emboss a 4 1/8 x 5 3/8 piece of cardstock with the Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder, #165559 and adhere to the 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 card base.

*  Emboss a 3 1/2 x 4 1/2 piece of cardstock with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder and set aside.

*  Cut a 2 x 3 piece of dsp or die cut it with one of your favourite dies or punch it out.

*  Use a hold punch from the Hole Punch Assortment, #165409 to create a hole on either side of the dsp rectangle, big enough to thread Linen Thread, #104199 or Basic Beige 3/8 Bordered Ribbon, #163788 through.

*  Wrap the thread or ribbon through the dsp then around the Eyelet Embossed layer.  *Trix, loop the thread through the left hole, behind the dsp layer, then up and and out the hole on the right side of the dsp.  Wind it around the Eyelet Embossed Layer and tie a bow on the left.  Add a bit of glue to adhere the dsp to the Eyelet layer to secure if you wish.

*  Stamp a sentiment with Mossy Meadow or Misty Moonlight ink on Basic Beige cardstock.  The Something Fancy Stamp Set, #160416 provided the tiny congratulations sentiment.  The script congratulations is from the retired Peaceful Moments Stamp Set.

*  Adhere the sentiment to the dsp layer with glue or dimensionals.  Adhere the Eyelet layer to the Mini Corrugated layer with dimensionals.

Birthday Celebration Gift Card Holder

 Hello and thanks for visiting!

I love creating new gift card holders or money holders.  In this version the holder pops up when you open the card, just for a bit of fun.   I've used the stamp set and dies from the new Birthday Celebration Bundle, #164599 and a some favourite retired dsp for my avid fisherman's birthday.

I was inspired by the Reel created by amandajane_craftee, click here to watch.

*** The Trix ***

*  Create the card base with a 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece of Very Vanilla cardstock scored at 2 1/2 & 6 1/2 on the 8 1/2 side.  Crease the scored lines well with a Bone Folder.

*  Adhere a 2 3/8 x 5 3/8 piece of dsp on the bottom flap.

*  Adhere a 2 1/8 x 5 3/8 piece of dsp on the top flap.

*  Adhere the bottom flap to the card base to create a pocket.  I used Tear & Tape adhesive, #154031 on the sides for a secure hold.

*  Cut a 4 x 5 7/8 piece of Very Vanilla cardstock for the inside piece, this piece will pop up when the card is opened.

*  Score this second piece of Very Vanilla cardstock at 1/2 x 3 7/8, fold and crease the score lines well with a bone folder.  Fold at the 3 7/8 crease and adhere to the base to create the gift card pocket, adhere with Tear & Tape.  If you wish adhere a 1 7/8 x 3 7/8 piece of dsp to decorate.

*  Tuck this folded 4 x 5 7/8 piece into the pocket of the card base - the 1/2 inch fold will be at the top.

*  Adhere a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive, to the 1/2 section, then fold the top flap of the card down onto the sticky Tear & Tape.  When the card opens it pull up the hidden gift card pocket.
